Daisy the Dinosaur is a free introduction to programming that is particularly suitable for KS1 / Foundation Phase. Chidren can use 9 different commands to make Daisy move through her colourful world. 
There are different stages, representing increasing levels of difficulty. The iTunes store description says kids can download a kit to write their own programs but they lie! However, there is a free-play mode they can access after they have completed all the levels.
